Growing up in the 80s, I got to experience the greatness of the late-great John Hughes’s impeccable rendering of life as a teenager. It kind of gave me hint at what I had to look forward to when I became a teenager. I can say some of it was true and the other bits — well, they never quite materialized. I really wanted my own Jake Ryan, and I can honestly say, I sort of do have my own Jake Ryan but he’s a geek version (whose wealth is in his character and humor), which I honestly like more than the jock version.
Thinking about John and catching wind of a post on I Can Has Cheezburger, I found out about a Venice, California art gallery’s upcoming tribute to John Hughes. Contributing to the art on display is none other than N.C. Winters. His rendition of the Breakfast Club crew is impeccable.
