I do like the Harry Potter novels. The movies have been ok but not as consistent as one would hope. The directors switched several times and we lost Richard Harris. I do like Michael Gambon, but he’s just not Richard Harris. Goblet of Fire was rather wretched. I had a hard time developing any emotional attachments to the characters at that stage of their development. (SPOILER) (SPOILER) (SPOILER) I felt no pangs of sorrow when Cedric Diggory died.
I have only four the movies on DVD, and I would like to get rest. Maybe some of you want to buy the movies on DVD as well. Well, you best hurry and buy them because Warner Brothers has announced they will be pulling Potter DVDs out of circulation on December 29th, 2011. All of them, including the soon-to-be-released “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” DVD, and the upcoming Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection that hits store shelves on December 2, 2011.
Warner Brothers plans to Disneyfy the franchise, and periodically release them from their vault every few years.
