I am currently beginning to read a Vertigo Graphic Series called Y: The Last Man. Y: The Last Man is a dystopian science fiction comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, first published in 2002. The series is about the only man, Yorick Brown, to survive the apparent simultaneous death of every male mammal (barring Yorick’s pet monkey, Ampersand) on Earth. The series is the winner of five Eisner Awards.
According to io9.com, “The film adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s chromosomal apocalypse comic book Y: The Last Man has lingered in development hell for years.” However, despite the official being in limbo that didn’t dissuade filmmaker Christian Cardona from adapting and condensing the series into a short film.
